6 1/2" New Jersey decorared storage jar with a coggled band of decoration. Examples of this coggling have been found at early NJ pottery sites. I sold my books with the references but im certian I matched them up years ago.Lid came with it but may not be original to the piece. Great form and size. All that said ive found a match to the decoration a piece made at Paul Cushmans pottery 1805-1833. Potters like glass blowers were transient. The tool may have moved along with the potter.
