6" x 6" x 6" hand made iron prickit type candle lantern possibly used for lighting in sailing ships during the 18th and 119th century. This piece has a wonderful original surface when hung It would remain fairly steady remain upright perfect for sailing ships of the era.Im sure there could be other uses as well. A space was left on the upperside so it could be lit without taking it down. A good piece and an uncommon piece of early lighting.
