Revolutionary War Period Pocket Canteen

Year: 18th century

Weight:1 lbs

I was told this was for use on the open sea for navel traveling, war and so on.I think it was made from one piece of wood, spieces of wood im not positive,Birch is a guess on my part?hand made wooden threaded stopper.7 3/4" tall, evidance of some old worm activity. No longer active. There is no sign of it ever being painted.Steel tinnd bands for added strenth but no rust on them. A warm smooth appealing surface. An uncommon form probably used for water maybe rum you,ll love it !
