Another great piece found in Kentucky is the dovetailed candlebox formed press, all completely original. There is a long wooden threaded device with a handle it comes out under the lip of the lid when the lid is shut.Inside at the end of the threaded dow is a flat solid piece of wood.It in my opinion was used to press cheese, tobacco, butter ? I don't know for sure.It does have a good worn red washed surface.Ruggedly constructed. Its all there. The sliding lid has shrunken some from time /age but not to the point that it falls out.everything is right. Again I've never seen another one.I bought a number of good primitives from this person.
