Rare uncut conservation matted and framed glass works script or shinn plasters from the Salem Glass Works in Salem New Jersey. For those of you that are unfamiliar with this type of currency. Up until about 1865 when it became outlawed It was a common way for the owners of the glass works to pay its workers with this.It was then spent in the companies store.It was the only business in town that would accept it for their purchase of all the goods needed to survive many employers  even offered housing for its workers. framed size is aprox. 20" x 15"
