Large early blown glass bowl with an applied string foot and a band of swag type decoration. Probably Kensington Glass Works, Philadelphia (1816-1833) An American blown glass rarity for the advanced collector. 6 3/4" diameter. Although this is a deeper bowl the basic form and construction direcly relates to the early green string footed bowl attributed to Glassboro NJ. Large open footed bowls are almost unheard of in American blown bottle glass
