Skillfully drawn 18th century pen and ink of two Hessian soldiers standing together it appears they are in the mist of a conversation one is holding a whip the other a clay pipe they are circled by decrative boarder.Begining in 1776 the Hessian soldiers helped the British army fight many of the important battles during the Revolutionary war. Battles in Trenton, Charleston,Yorktown and Germantown.The frame is an early 19th century frame cut and resized, sight size of the drawing is 5" x 5". A rare glimpse of our American history.
