Year: 19th century
Early Trapper or fisherman's creel. I have never had the pleasure to offer such an interesting find. Its exact age and origin is unknown to me it has the look of something that was carried over the shoulder while hunting, trapping or fishing but could have held about anything. It has a Native American look but could by an early frontiersmen. Made to keep the contents protected from the elements. Completely handmade using animal hide, hand stitched.Amazingly there is no damage ,well used 15” wide 10” deep and about 7” high and still usable. Impossible to date im guessing mid to late 1800s but it could be later.
