Early American wrought iron pipe kiln used to dry out clay pipes after they were cleaned and washed. This would have sat or hung buy the hearth to slowly dry the pipes. Possibly used at a Tavern where much drinking and pipe smoking took place.This example is a bit different than any others ive seen the wrought iron was twisted as an added decoration.A scarce item in undamaged as found condition.
