Colonial Revivial Copper hanging candle sconce.Stamped on the bottom with the mark of Donald Streeter. Don Streeter was a well know metal smith. Don worked tin & iron in the Colonial tradion, completely by hand using tools that would have been used 100 years earlier.Mr Sreeter did work for Colonial Williamburg about 40 years ago making a line of reproductions for the gift shop. They are hard to find these days, wish I had two! This perticular sconce has developed a good natural patina and a great example of his work.,His shop still stands on Rt47 in Franklinville New Jerey.Mr Steeter published a book showing the old methods and traditions. Don published a book in 1980 titiled Professional Smthing by Donald Streeter. It has been republished, copies may be found online. No doubt an expert in this field.
